The stools are made from 1" and 3.5" clear acrylic sheet. The rails are 1"
acrylic formed to the appropriate radius and routed to dimension. The legs
are milled from 3.5" acrylic, sanded and buffed to a crystal clear polish,
except where they are to be glued. Each part must fit precisely or air
pockets (bubbles) will form within the joint. At this thickness, there is
no flexibility and all parts must be exactly on dimension.
After the parts are glued, a ledge is routed in the top interior to
accommodate the cushion. Then the stool is further sanded and the buffing
process is completed.
